Tricia & Charlie's Olean Wedding Photos
Hey friends! I’m excited to share Tricia and Charlie’s Olean wedding photos with you all today! I had a great time working with this crew a few weeks back in Olean, NY. We started things out at The Old Library Inn, next to the reception hall. With everyone getting ready in the same location, it was a whirlwind of activity! One of the things I like best about this location is the vintage wood workmanship and the big beautiful windows. It makes for a perfect “getting ready” spot. Once everyone was ready, we made the trip over to the campus of St. Bonaventure University, where we spent a good portion of the day.
The ceremony was at the University Chapel and had a really great layout. With chairs located on both sides of the aisle, facing in, it made for a different and interesting look. For this wedding, Charlie was waiting at the back of the chapel for Tricia to come through the doors. That would be the first time he would see her on their wedding day. After she came through the doors, Charlie escorted her down the aisle. It was a very special moment.
The bride and groom wanted to stay on the campus to do most of their photos. There are lots of really great spots and we took advantage of many of them. I love shooting in front of Deveraux Hall with all it’s ivy and the archway–it’s a beautiful spot! We had a very relaxed schedule, which led to the the whole wedding party really enjoying themselves and not feeling pressured or rushed. I love that! Once we wrapped up the photos, we headed back over to The Old Library Hall for the reception.
I want to use this space here to make mention of something I think is pretty rare. Typically, a wedding reception will have two toasts or speeches. That’s how this one started, but after dinner, each person in the wedding party stood up and said a few words about the bride and groom. They weren’t stories that focused on themselves, they were focused on how they value and feel towards the bride and groom. To see each person get up in front of a crowd and do this really speaks to the kind of people Tricia and Charlie are. They truly have great friends.
Congrats to Tricia and Charlie! May your lives be filled with joy and love!
