Zach & Alison's Hotel at the Lafayette Wedding Photos

Hey everyone! Today I get to share Zach & Alison’s Hotel at the Lafayette Wedding Photos with you all! You might remember them from their engagement session last year. It was easily one of my favorite sessions because of the locations, and the couple too. 😉 Zach & Alison are two people I loved working with and I was so glad to be a part of their wedding day!

We started things off with the girls getting ready at Zach’s parents’ house. It worked out nice because their parents only live a few houses down from each other. Once all the girls were dressed and ready, we did a first look between Alison and her dad—always a special moment. The best moment of the day was still to come…

Zach and Alison opted not to do a first look prior to the wedding. So, when Alison came down the aisle, it was the first Zach saw her in her wedding dress. You have to see the photos—by far the best moment of the day! After the ceremony, we headed down to the Erie Basin Marina for photos. I’ve shot there maybe 15-20 times, but the natural lighting has never looked like this. I love the way the photos came out! Before the reception, we stopped off at Lafayette Square for a few more pictures. Just as we started, the rain began. Thankfully, it didn’t last long.

The reception started off with a first dance and a few toasts, then the party began. Zach & Alison booked Steve Balesteri and the Uptown Sound for their wedding band. If you’re even thinking about going with a band, HIRE THESE GUYS! Incredible. I’ve seen a lot of wedding bands, but these guys are the best. The party was crazy all night and I was glad to be in such good company with the bride and groom and their guests.

For one last photo, I took the bride and groom up to the courtyard. I was looking for something unique to add to their photo. I saw the welcome sign that was at the entrance to the reception hall, which was made by a bridesmaid. It was exactly what I was looking for. I held the lights of the sign directly in front of the camera and “shot through” it. It’s the last photo in this blog, don’t miss it!
