Adam & Mary's Mansfield Wedding Photos
A few weeks back I had the privilege of shooting my sister-in-law’s wedding. You might recognize them from their engagement photos from a few months back. Mary is the closest sister in age to my wife so they’ve always been close. As a result of that, and Mary staying with us many times, she has become a sister to me as well. When I think of Mary coming over, I’ll always think of our tradition of stuffing our faces with gooey cinnamon rolls! Now that she and Adam are married, we look forward to welcoming him in with our breakfast indulgence whenever they visit!
Let’s talk about the wedding! This spot is pretty special to Adam, Mary and the whole family. It’s affectionately become known as “Dead End”. Mary and her family have taken many walks in this beautiful area (actually called “Mill Cove“) at the end of a dead end road. It’s also where Adam asked Mary to marry him, and now, it’s where they said their vows and celebrated with their families.
There’s a lot I could talk about but I want to focus on something unique that Adam and Mary did. Towards the end of their ceremony, they washed each other’s feet. I know that sounds unusual for a wedding, but it’s roots come from the Bible. Jesus washed his disciples’ feet as an example of what the disciples should do for each other. Jesus served them, and so, they should serve each other. In the same way, Adam and Mary showed with this act that they are committed to serving each other and to put the other first. I thought it was pretty cool. I’ve only been married for four years, but I can tell you, putting the other person first goes a long way!
Alright, let’s get on to the photos!
